This Privacy Policy describes the information collected by TrackSport through the mobile application TrackSportLap.

We take user privacy very seriously.

Information Collection

TrackSportLap does not collect any user information.
The application does not contain any in-app purchases, unless explicitly stated on Google Play or the App Store.

Permissions Used by the Application

1. Internet Access

  • INTERNET

  • ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

  • CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE

The network connection is used only to send BIB numbers and sports-related data to the TrackSport server and to validate login credentials.

2. Camera

  • CAMERA

The camera is used only for scanning QR codes and barcodes in order to obtain checkpoint codes or athlete BIB numbers.
It is also used for taking photos of participants, which are uploaded to the TrackSport server.

3. Photo Library and External Storage

  • READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

  • WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

  • iOS: PHOTO_LIBRARY

These permissions are used for:

  • saving QR codes to the gallery

  • exporting all BIB numbers and their times in CSV format

  • accessing the camera when taking photos

4. Network Status

  • ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

  • CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE

Used by the application to detect whether an internet connection is available and whether it is Wi-Fi or mobile data.

5. Background Services

  • RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

Used for running background network services — for example, periodically attempting to send any unsent sports data when an internet connection becomes available.

6. Bluetooth (for RFID / sports chip reading)

  • Android 12+: BLUETOOTH_SCAN, BLUETOOTH_CONNECT

  • Older versions: BLUETOOTH, BLUETOOTH_ADMIN

Bluetooth is used for:

  • contactless reading of sports timing chips

  • communication with RFID readers at checkpoints

7. Location

  • ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION

  • ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION

Location is used for determining the position of the checkpoint during sports events.

8. Vibration

  • VIBRATE

Vibration provides haptic feedback when scanning or entering a BIB number.

9. Keeping the Screen Awake

  • WAKE_LOCK

This permission prevents the screen from turning off during important operations such as:

  • scanning QR codes

  • entering or sending data
